History of Brgy. Mabanogbog

Just a walking distance away from the heart of the city leis beautiful place to live in. This Place is situated between two (2) rivers, the Macalong River on the south and Mitura River on the north. This Place formerly a Sitio of Barangay San Vicente but as years go by, the place stands independently and became a Barrio February 27, 1960. Mabanogbog is the name of the place. MABANOGBOG was populated by the settlers coming from ILOCOS SUR. It was formerly known as CASANTIAGOAN where migrants from Santiago, ilocos Sur came.

MABANOGBOG  was  derived  from  roaring  sound of water from the creek “BOMANORBOR  NGA  DANUM” in Ilocano. From then on, the place is now called Mabanogbog. Mabanogbog has a population 3,619 its has rich and fertile land. Rice is planted for 2-3 croppings a year, different kinds of vegetables  were  also  planted,  it is noted for its famous SAMSAMPING.  In the late 1990’s MABANOGBOG won as the CLEANEST, GREENEST and MOST  BEAUTIFUL BARANGAY in the WHOLE PROVINCE OF PANGASINAN, at the time Cornelio Elegado Sr. leads the barangay.

The  Leaders  of  Barangay MABANOGBOG known as the Tinyente Del Baryo. Were  Don Pablo Locquiao,  Don Sisinando  Caliboso,  Barangay Captain Geronimo Caliboso,  Anastacio Ballesteros, Cornelio Elegado Sr., Jimmy Siquig and the 3rd  timer Barangay  Captain Arsenio Elegado Sr. a former School Teacher who has a dynamo of energy in public service. Don Pablo Locquiao  and Don Feliciano  Figuracion Donated a lot where Manan Elementary School  was  erected for the benefit of the populace specially the school aged children.  Today,  Mabanogbog is one of the MOST  CONDUCTIVE  PLACES  due to its peaceful, loving  and hospitable populace.

Uphold  and  maintain  the integrity and bring back the glorious moment of  Barangay  being adjudge as THE CLEANEST, GREENEST BARANGAY IN THE WHOLE PROVINCE OF PANGASINAN just few years back.

Fast tracked the implementation of the development programs and projects, pump primed our local economy, and deliver health care  services to the Barangay folk.
